To begin with...

This is a Saturday evening. I am sitting at home with not much to do but play with my computer. It's amazing what you can do and find on this contraption. I've been using computers for years now, ever since they were "little" word processors basically. Yes, before there was an internet. I've tried my hand at web design and even looked into programing a little. But that's my brother's field, so I'll leave that to him. HTML is an interesting language and in its basic form is fun to play with, but the advances that have been made in it are more than I care to play with. I'll stick to just playing with what is out there.
Being trained in many fields of "work", it would seem that I should be some successful type person by now. But since I have had my share of problems with being overly trusting and accepting, I find myself unemployed at this point. I have a Master's Degree in Divinity, but the church body I belonged to decided that I cared too much for people, and not enough about the "organization". Go figure. I am looking into the possibility of moving to another group, and we'll see how that goes. More on that some other time. I am also a trained tractor/trailer operator and that can be a strange field to be in. And it's the reason I'm unemployed right now. An accident at my most recent job has rendered me that way. Not a pleasant situation. I am also a certified chef from Le Cordon Bleu. I worked for a while in that field at a wholesale baker, but then was phased out, and haven't really had the urge to re-enter that field. I do love to cook and the training has made my own cooking quite tasty and fun. I have done some private parties, and still do when asked. And I am writing a book at this time. It's based on the debate/issue of "Salvation". A theological work that won't look anything like the typical theological writings you may find on the book shelves. We'll see if it's accepted by any book publishers. Yes, I'm also looking into web book publishing. It's early.
Since my accident (which has disabled my left arm for a while now), I've discovered how much you can do with just one arm. And how much you can't do with just one arm. Luckily my left arm and hand are coming back into use, slowly but surely. Fighting with Workman's Compensation has been nothing less than surreal. A government agency that has at best a semi-working knowledge of human beings. The lawyer I've talked to about it, has dubbed them the "Keystone Cops of help". Not good news. However, I have contacted my local congressman's office and they are willing to look into it and see if they can move WC's rear into gear. We'll see.
I realize that I am eclectic to say the least. I love all types of music, movies, books, and people. My CD collection ranges from classical, to country, to rock (all decades), to Christian. My cooking styles are all over the board as well. And the people I know as friends range all over the place. I guess I just don't like to limit myself to any one nitche. As I like to say, "deal with it". My favorite quote comes from the mad genius, Albert Eintsein. Although I don't fully understand all that he wrote about, this one quote to me is the one I live by. "Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence." He has other thoughts on theology and life that are wonderful and at times insane. But the truly great minds have that touch of insanity to them. Go Albert!
